Time tracking
Time tracking records the work performed on a job. It is separate from scheduled visit duration: an estimated one-hour visit does not automatically become one hour of recorded work.
Start, pause, and finish
Start work from the job's timer action. If you are starting ahead of its scheduled time, review the early-start confirmation. The job can have several work sessions as you stop and return to it.
Use End work to choose between:
- Pause job: stop timing while keeping the job open.
- Complete job: finish the job and end the current session, after completing any required forms.
Pausing does not cancel a visit or invoice the customer. Completing a job keeps its time logs available for review. See Create and manage jobs.
Review time logs
Open the job's time-log view to review its sessions and overall timing. The summary includes Started, Completed, and Billable Time where applicable.
You can correct the overall start or completion time and set a manual billable duration. An end time cannot be earlier than the start. Use Reset on an overridden value to return to the available underlying timing information.
Sync Billable Time sets billable time from the recorded start-to-end range after confirmation. That range can include time between sessions, so compare it with the actual work before accepting it.
Use time appropriately
Billable time is a record for your review. Recording or adjusting it does not automatically create, price, or send an invoice. Continue through the project, then review the quantity and rate on the invoice.
If you reopen a completed job, its previous time logs and connected documents are kept. Check the existing time before starting another session so you can distinguish the additional work.
