Quotes

Projects, jobs, and invoices

A quote can belong to the same project as jobs, other quotes, invoices, credit notes, and expenses. Open its project panel to inspect those records or choose Add Document to continue the work.

This is the shared project document view used across the mobile app. See Connected documents for how it works on other screens.

Create a job from the quote

Choose Add Document → Job from the quote's project context. The flow carries the related quote and client into job creation.

Review the location, primary contact, instructions, schedule, and communication choices before saving. Creating a job does not itself prove the quote was accepted. Check the quote's decision and arrange the work with the client.

For scheduling and visits, see Jobs.

Create an invoice from accepted quotes

Choose Add Document → Invoice to continue into invoicing. The Create From Quote flow can offer eligible accepted quotes from the project as a starting point for invoice lines.

When selecting more than one quote, they must have compatible client, project, currency, tax settings, and discounts. The picker explains restrictions such as Not yet accepted, Different tax setup, or Incompatible discount.

Review all resulting lines and any previous billing. Prefilling an invoice does not guarantee that the same work has not already been invoiced. Check payment terms, received payments, client credit, and delivery choices before issuing it.

See Continue a workflow and Create and edit invoices.

Additional or replacement quotes

Use Add Document → Quote when another proposal belongs to the same work. The project and client context are preserved, but the new quote still needs its own scope, prices, expiry, and review.

Keep the earlier quote's status accurate using the quote status guide. Creating another quote does not automatically withdraw an earlier one.

Costs and project totals

Project expenses show the costs associated with the work. Adding an expense to a quote as a line is a separate decision to propose a customer charge.

A quoted amount is proposed work, not collected money. Read Expenses and financials when reviewing project totals, and Link expenses and charge customers before bringing costs onto a quote.
