Client decisions
Clients can review a quote through its client-facing link. The online page shows the quote details and, where available, access to the PDF and public supporting files.
Accepting a quote
The client chooses Accept, then confirms in Confirm Acceptance. TREVY records the decision and updates the quote to Accepted. The business receives an update; push notifications also depend on notification availability and permissions.
Opening the quote is not acceptance. Use the accepted status and recorded decision when checking whether the client has agreed to proceed.
Acceptance does not itself schedule a job, issue an invoice, or collect payment. Continue those steps through the project workflow.
Rejecting a quote
The client chooses Reject and confirms the rejection. The confirmation offers an optional reason, which can help explain why they declined.
TREVY records the rejection and updates the business. The client page can describe the result as declined, while the mobile status is Rejected.
If the client wants different work or pricing, discuss the changes before preparing another quote. A rejected quote should not be treated as approval of a revised scope.
Expiry and unavailable decisions
Expiry closes the acceptance window. TREVY marks an outstanding quote expired and records an in-app notification for the business. The response request is checked against the current quote state, even if the client still has an older page open.
An expired or cancelled quote cannot receive a new client acceptance or rejection. A quote already accepted or rejected cannot receive another decision through the same flow. The page may return a message explaining why an action cannot proceed.
For an expired proposal, review whether the price and scope still apply and prepare a new quote if the work is going ahead. Do not ask the client to keep retrying an expired acceptance link.
View history and notifications
TREVY records quote opens, including view counts and first/latest view times. These indicate access to the quote, not agreement. Review the quote's activity and decision details alongside its status.
If a notification is missed or an action is interrupted, refresh the saved quote and check the recorded outcome. A notification alone is not a substitute for checking the current record.
Decisions received elsewhere
If the client accepts by phone, email, or in person, you can use Mark as Accepted on an eligible issued quote in the mobile app. The confirmation makes clear that you are recording acceptance on their behalf and lets you add a private note.
See Manage quote status for this action, recording rejection, and withdrawing a proposal.
