Getting Started

Demo documents

Demo documents let you explore TREVY's main workflows before using them with real customers.

TREVY creates a demo client and keeps your demo quote, job, and invoice together in a separate demo project. You can experiment with these documents without affecting your real clients, payments, or reports.

No subscription is required to use the demo.

You can also send demo emails to your own inbox to see exactly what a client receives, including your business details, document links, and client-facing messages.

Your real business records are safe

Demo documents are kept separate from your real customer work.

You can explore quotes, jobs, and invoices without changing real client records, payments, or reports.

Before you begin

Your demo quotes and invoices use information from your business profile.

For a more useful preview, consider adding your:

  • Business name and logo.
  • Company email and phone number.
  • Business location and ABN.
  • Correct GST registration setting.

You don't need to complete every field before starting.

Adding a valid ABN is the only business-profile milestone tracked by the in-app Get started checklist.

See Set up your business for more information about each field.

Receive demo emails in your own inbox

One of the most useful parts of the demo is seeing the communication your customers receive.

TREVY automatically uses your account email address as the demo client's email address.

This is the email associated with your TREVY login, not the company email entered in your business details.

Email addressHow it's used
Account emailReceives demo emails so you can experience the client side of TREVY.
Company emailAppears as part of your business identity and, when configured, is used as the reply-to address for client communication.

We recommend sending the emails while completing the demo.

  • Leave Send Email enabled for the quote and invoice.
  • Enable Booking Email for the job after adding an upcoming schedule.

Sending emails is optional. You can turn these options off and still create your demo documents.

You'll review emails before sending them

Enabling an email option doesn't send a message immediately.

TREVY lets you preview the document and review the recipient and client-facing message before you confirm the final send action.

You can return to the form to adjust the document, or turn the email option off if you'd rather not send it.

Demo emails are real emails sent to your account inbox.

If you don't receive one, check your spam or junk folder and confirm that you're checking the email address associated with your TREVY account.

Follow the Get started checklist

Open Home and select the Get started card.

You'll find three demo milestones:

  1. Explore quotes
  2. Explore jobs
  3. Explore invoices

Select a milestone to open its prepared demo form.

TREVY marks each step complete after you create the corresponding document. You can complete the steps separately and return to completed items to review your documents again.

1. Explore a demo quote

Start by creating a quote for the prepared demo client.

The demo client is already selected and locked, so you can't accidentally involve a real customer.

Open the demo quote

From the Get started card, select Explore quotes.

TREVY opens the prepared quote form with the demo client selected.

Prepare your quote

Use the form to explore how quotes work in TREVY.

Try:

  • Describing the proposed work.
  • Adding and adjusting line items, quantities, and prices.
  • Reviewing discounts, GST, and totals.
  • Checking how your business and client details appear on the document.

Leave Send Email enabled if you'd like to receive the finished quote in your own inbox.

Preview the quote

Select Preview Quote to review the finished document.

If email delivery is enabled, select Review Email to inspect the recipient and client-facing message.

You can return to the form to make corrections before issuing the quote.

Issue your demo quote

When you're happy with the document and email, confirm Issue & Send.

The quote isn't emailed until you confirm this action.

Complete the create flow to save your quote and finish the Explore quotes milestone.

Demo quote restrictions

Reusable Price Book actions are restricted in the demo so they can't change your real setup data.

For more information about quote states and client decisions, see Quotes.

2. Explore a demo job

Next, create a job for the prepared demo client.

The demo controls the client and primary contact, while the rest of the form introduces the information used to organise field work.

Open the demo job

From the Get started card, select Explore jobs.

TREVY opens the prepared job form.

Add the job details

Use the form to explore:

  • Describing the work to be completed.
  • Adding a service location.
  • Choosing a date, time, and scheduling details.
  • Reviewing information used for client communication and field records.

Add an upcoming schedule if you'd like to try the booking confirmation email.

Choose your email options

The prepared demo job starts with Booking Email and Reminder Email turned off.

After adding an upcoming schedule, you can enable Booking Email to receive the booking confirmation immediately after saving.

You can also enable Reminder Email when the selected schedule is eligible.

Unlike the booking confirmation, the reminder is sent closer to the scheduled visit rather than immediately.

Review and confirm

When an email option is enabled, select Preview Email or Preview Emails to review each client-facing message and its recipient.

If Booking Email is enabled, the message isn't sent until you confirm Confirm & Send.

If only a later reminder is enabled, you can review it before booking the job. TREVY sends it at the eligible reminder time.

Complete the create flow to save your demo job.

Demo job restrictions

Recurring jobs and reusable job-template actions aren't available in the demo because they would create ongoing configuration outside the exercise.

For more information about scheduling, visits, communications, routes, and field records, see Jobs.

3. Explore a demo invoice

Finally, create an invoice to see how completed or billable work becomes an amount due.

The prepared demo client is locked to keep the exercise separate from real customers.

Open the demo invoice

From the Get started card, select Explore invoices.

TREVY opens the prepared invoice form.

Prepare your invoice

Use the form to explore:

  • Adding or reviewing billable line items.
  • Checking GST, discounts, subtotals, and the amount due.
  • Reviewing payment terms and demonstration payment instructions.
  • Previewing the invoice with your business details.

Leave Send Email enabled if you'd like to receive the finished invoice in your own inbox.

Review the invoice

Select Preview Invoice to review the finished document.

If email delivery is enabled, select Review Email to inspect the recipient and client-facing message.

You can return to the form to make corrections before issuing the invoice.

Issue your demo invoice

When you're happy with the invoice, confirm Issue & Send.

The invoice isn't emailed until you confirm this action.

Complete the create flow to save the invoice and finish the Explore invoices milestone.

See how quotes and invoices connect

When your demo invoice is prepared from your demo quote, TREVY can carry information across automatically, including:

  • Line items and tax treatment.
  • Currency and payment terms.
  • Discounts and totals.

This demonstrates how connected documents can reduce repeated data entry.

Demo payments

Stripe card payments aren't available on demo invoices.

Any payment details you add to a demo invoice are for demonstration only and don't change your company's saved payment methods.

For more information about issuing, sending, collecting, and correcting real invoices, see Invoices.

Manage your demo documents

You can manage your demo experience from one place.

From Home, scroll to the main menu and select Demo documents.

Turn demo prompts on or off

While demo prompts are enabled, TREVY may offer a demo when you begin creating your first eligible job, quote, or invoice through the normal create flow.

Depending on what you're creating, the sheet is titled:

  • Try a demo job
  • Try a demo quote
  • Try a demo invoice

The sheet gives you three choices:

OptionWhat happens
Demo job, Demo quote, or Demo invoiceOpens the prepared demo form.
No thanksContinues to a normal form for real work.
Manage demo settingsOpens the Demo documents maintenance screen.

Closing the sheet cancels that create action.

You don't need a subscription to use the demo.

If you no longer want TREVY to offer demo choices, turn off the DEMO PROMPTS switch on the Demo documents screen.

Turning off demo prompts

Disabling demo prompts doesn't delete your existing demo documents.

You can still open or create them from the Get started checklist or the Demo documents screen.

Review your demo progress

The DEMO DOCUMENTS section shows how many of the three documents you've created.

It also displays the status of your demo quote, job, and invoice.

  • Select an unfinished row to create that document.
  • Select a completed row to reopen the existing document.

Your overall progress is shown as Not started, In progress, or Complete.

Reset your demo documents

If you'd like to start the demonstration again, select Reset.

After you confirm, TREVY permanently deletes:

  • The demo client.
  • All demo jobs.
  • All demo quotes.
  • All demo invoices.

Your real clients and business records aren't affected.

Resetting cannot be undone

Resetting permanently deletes your existing demo documents.

You can't restore the previous documents, but you can create a fresh set afterward.

Reset only affects the demo workspace. Real records must be managed from their own feature areas.

Continue with real work

Once you've created all three demo documents, their individual Get started milestones are complete.

The remaining onboarding steps use real data: adding your first client and creating your first real job.
