Why I Built TREVY: Less Admin, More Life
I built TREVY to help hard-working tradies and service providers spend less time on admin, paperwork, quotes, and invoices, and more time on the rest of life.

Why I built TREVY
Hi, I'm Trev. I built TREVY because I have a lot of respect for people who do physical work for a living.
I spend most of my working life behind a computer, while the people TREVY is built for are often out on site, on the tools, moving between jobs, dealing with clients, solving practical problems, and still coming home to quotes, invoices, follow-ups, and paperwork.
Sometimes I look at the work done by tradies and service providers and wonder if that is the more honest kind of work: physical, practical, and right there in the real world. I took a different path. For better or worse, I became the computer guy.
So TREVY is my way of putting that path to use. I can leave the physical work to the people who know it best, and they can leave the admin and paperwork to the nerds. Hopefully, somewhere in that trade, we both help each other out.
If I can save someone a few hours to spend with family, work on a hobby, or just get part of their weekend back, that is something I can be passionate about building.

Respect for the people doing the work
I spend most of my working life as a software developer, looking at a screen. Because of that, I often think about the difference between my work and the work done by service providers: the physical days, the early starts, the problem solving on site, and the pressure of still having admin waiting after the tools are packed away.
There is a grit to service labour that is easy to overlook from an office. TREVY is one way I can give something back to the people who keep homes, businesses, and communities running.
Built for tradies and small service businesses, not corporations
TREVY is for independent contractors, tradies, and service providers who need the practical parts of field service software without the enterprise price tag or feature bloat.
When you use TREVY, you are not just a number in a database. If you find an issue or send feedback, you are not talking to a call center bot. You are talking to the person building the app, and that feedback can directly shape what gets improved next.
The workflow I wanted to connect
A field service app should make the day easier, not make the admin feel bigger. I wanted TREVY to connect the work that already happens in a service business, from scheduling the job, to pricing the work, sending the invoice, tracking the cost, and keeping the client record clear.
It starts with scheduling. A calendar should reduce chaos, not become another thing to manage. I know how quickly time disappears through forgotten return visits, unclear arrival windows, client reschedule requests, and jobs that never quite make it from quote to calendar. TREVY is designed to keep that work visible and connected.
The same idea continues through quotes and invoicing. Quotes should lead naturally into real work instead of becoming awkward documents that are hard to prepare, hard to send, and easy for clients to forget. By using saved price book items and existing job and client information, you can create professional quotes quickly and send clients a simple review link. If they accept, that quote stays connected to the project instead of becoming another piece of paperwork.
Invoicing follows the same philosophy. You shouldn't have to rebuild a day's work from memory or turn handwritten notes into invoices when you're already tired. Jobs, quotes, and projects should flow naturally into invoices, keeping line items, GST details, and payment status connected from beginning to end.
The final piece is expenses. Materials, fuel, subscriptions, receipts, and billable costs are all part of running a service business, and they're easiest to record while they're still fresh. By keeping those costs linked to the jobs, quotes, invoices, and projects they belong to, TREVY helps give you a clearer picture of where your time and money are really going.
Budget-friendly pricing
I believe essential tools should be accessible. TREVY is designed to stay budget-friendly compared with many larger field service tools, with simple pricing for the core workflow instead of a maze of feature tiers and add-ons.
TREVY Core is $19.99 AUD/month and is currently available to Australian businesses only.
Where TREVY goes from here
I see the current version of TREVY as the worst it will ever be. That philosophy drives me to keep improving the app, but it also reminds me to be careful about how those improvements are made. Every new feature should make the workflow simpler, faster, or more useful. If it adds complexity without real value, it doesn't belong.
The direction of TREVY will always be guided by real service providers and the challenges they face, rather than chasing trends or ticking boxes. As the app grows, I'd also love to help small businesses present themselves more professionally through simple tools like website creation, while keeping TREVY practical, focused, and affordable.
The bottom line
TREVY was born from the idea that different paths can still help each other. Tradies and service providers do the physical work that keeps homes, businesses, and communities running. I build software. This app is my attempt to use that skill to make admin simpler, paperwork lighter, and give hard workers more time back for the rest of life.
